Clare Cady
Director of Research and Innovation
Clare Cady is a scholar-practitioner whose work rests in the intersection of higher education and human services. Clare has nearly two decades of experience working on issues of college access, poverty alleviation, and community development. Clare founded the College and University Food Bank Alliance, a capacity-building nonprofit focused on addressing food insecurity on college campuses, and has designed and led professional development opportunities and trainings for nonprofit executives. She is a sought-after speaker, consultant, and writer, holding a Masters degree in Education from Washington State University and a Bachelors in International Development and Social Change from Clark University.
Lisa Falcone
Regional Director of Partnerships
Lisa is a creative, intuitive, and compassionate thought leader with 25+ years of proven senior leadership, including current role as Regional Director at Single Stop, Fedcap, Inc. Leadership Academy Faculty, Leadership Coach, Izlind Integrative Wellness Center and past role as President & Co-Founder of a non-profit organization. Lisa has extensive experience in program development and has spearheaded new initiatives at both the county and state level. Lisa has a B.S. Degree in Human Services from the University of Scranton and completed the Professional Credit Program for a Masters in Social Work at Rutgers University increasing access and assistance from governmental agencies.
Kelly Curry
Associate Director of Partner Services
Kelly Curry has more than 10 years of experience in non-profit work, including direct-care and program management work, as well as experience providing psychotherapy to individuals in an outpatient setting. She has worked with populations experiencing a serious and persistent mental health diagnosis, chronic homelessness, and cyclical poverty. Kelly currently serves as Associate Director of Partner Services. Previously, she managed a subsidized housing program specialized for individuals transitioning out of State Psychiatric Hospitals. Kelly earned her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice as Seton Hall University and her Master of Social Work from The University of New England.
Megan Lane
Associate Director of Partner Services
Megan’s role at Single Stop encompasses curriculum development, partner support and consultation, and training facilitation to ensure site staff have the skills and confidence to fully serve their clients. Before joining the team at Single Stop, Megan spent over five years in Chicago, working with college and university staff across the country as a program manager at Interfaith Youth Core, a nonprofit that works to build religious pluralism in America. Megan holds a masters degree in Religion from the University of Georgia, and another in Higher Education Administration from North Carolina State University.
Beatrice Mauger
Associate Director of Partner Services
Beatrice is an advocate for social change and sustainability. Prior to joining Single Stop, Beatrice served as Associate Director at Equity for Children, a child rights center at The New School, where she implemented inspiring and empowering programming for children’s rights activists and managed operations and fundraising. Before this, she worked as a Development and Alumni Affairs Consultant for Teach for America, helping to provide children in underserved communities in New York with a quality education. Beatrice graduated from The New School with Master’s in Development, Governance & Rights after working for several years in the financial services industry.
Vanessa Mendez
Associate Director of Partner Services
Vanessa has over ten years of experience working with Community Base Organizations and providing an array of different trainings and support for caseworkers. Vanessa is an Associate Director of Community Partnerships at Single Stop, where she engages new and existing Single Stop partners to effectively run a Single Stop program. She has a BA in Community Studies & a Minor in Education from the University of California Santa Cruse, and a Master’s in Social Work from Hunter’s Silberman School of Social Work.
Makdyanet Cedeño
SNAP Campaign Manager
Makdyanet Cedeño is a native New Yorker with a strong interest in public service, and BA in Political Science from the University of Vermont. Post undergrad, she attended NYU Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and received an MPA in Public Non-Profit Management and Policy. Makdy served as Part of the Solution’s first Single Stop Coordinator screening low-income residents for city and state benefits, and later as a Performance Improvement Coordinator doing quality improvement work for a mental health service agency and recently oversaw outreach of the Start by Asking Campaign at the New York Immigration Coalition.
Nichol Alexander
Senior Software Engineer
Nichol has been a full stack developer for 6 years and loves writing awesome, tested, clean Ruby with our team. He is extremely happy to be able to contribute to the Single Stop mission and help people in a real and meaningful way through technology. Prior to writing code, he worked in Finance, Financial Media, and received his MFA in Playwriting. He is happily married and has two amazing kids.
Apoorva Muralidhara
Senior Software Engineer
Apoorva studied mathematics at Princeton University and the University of California at Berkeley. He has been a software engineer for many years in a variety of languages, but is in love with Ruby, and believes in high-quality, well-tested, maintainable code. In his spare time, he reads voraciously, listens to music, and sees many films. He lives in New York City with his wife and young son, who are also voracious readers.
Joanne Anthony
Data Analyst
Joanne Anthony is a data analyst who has been at Single Stop for the last two and half years. Joanne is passionate about data and using data to help people. She has worked as a data analyst for over fifteen years. In her previous job in local government, she used data to look for ways of improving services for people with behavioral health issues. She was instrumental in reconciling and finding gaps in the data to help resolve issues in how people were being served. In her current role at Single Stop, Joanne has worked with other organizations to provide data and data analysis to better understand the people Single Stop serves and the types of services/benefits they receive.
Sabina Shakya
Program Manager, Healthcare Access Programs
Sabina Shakya has a M.Ed in Community Engagement and over 3 years’ experience in the DOH Navigator and FE-ABD program, including currently leading both programs. Prior to working at Single Stop, Sabina interned at Global Health Corps as part of their Operations team. She has a keen interest in the field of public health, specifically around global health, healthcare systems, and healthcare management.
Laura Olan
Facilitated Enroller, Healthcare Access Programs
Laura Olan is a Facilitated Enroller at Single Stop and has been part of the organization for the last three years. Laura has 10+ years of experience working with community-based organizations as a benefit adviser/case manager in the areas of social services, public/entitlement benefits, serving individuals and families in low-income neighborhoods. The last 6 years of her work have centered on screening, educating & enrolling individuals into healthcare benefits, first as a certified NYSOH Navigator since 2013 and now as a facilitated enroller working with the aged, blind and disabled population, connecting them to Medicaid healthcare benefits.
Christine Zhao
Facilitated Enroller, Healthcare Access Programs
Christine Zhao is a Facilitated Enroller at Single Stop and her responsibilities involve assisting the Aged, Certified Disabled, and Certified Blind population in applying for and renewing public health insurance, specifically Medicaid, Medicaid Excess Income Program, and the Medicare Savings Program. Christine has 14 years’ experience in providing direct enrollment services and is committed to helping her clients achieve their goals and ensure they have a positive enrollment experience.
Samantha Lisk
Business Development Operations Administrator
Passionate about social justice and the nonprofit sector, Samantha originally joined the Single Stop team as a member of AmeriCorps VISTA. Her main responsibilities include managing the Single Stop website and Salesforce database. Prior to this position, she worked as a content writer at the North Carolina Consumers Council and a Spanish>English translator. A Salesforce Certified Administrator, she also holds a Master of Science in Translation from New York University, a Bachelor of Arts in English from Campbell University, and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Duke University. In her free time, she enjoys serving her community as a volunteer, playing with her dog, and reading voraciously.
Matthew Paul DeCarlo
Lead UX|UI Front End Engineer
A passion for combining behavioral science, creativity, and intellect has afforded Matthew the honor of helping build applications that have shaped the community while modernizing industries. As an engineer, he enjoys fusing his skills to create unique experiences. Sharing his work and seeing it impact others’ experience excites and fulfills him!
Jay Arachchige
Product Analyst
With more than 5 years of experience as a business analyst leading and overseeing the design and development of new products, Jay works closely with key business decision makers, as well as development and testing teams, to develop Single Stop software products. Before joining the Single Stop team, he worked for a petroleum company, collaborating with developers to implement machine learning algorithms and develop systems to automate the fuel update process. Jay holds a DNIIT Honors Diploma in Software Engineering, an associate’s degree in Business Administration and Management, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer and Information Technology. In his spare time, Jay enjoys traveling, reading, and working out.
